The tablet takeover continues.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Apple’s newest iPad has picked up right where previous generations left off.   But there is competition and the first Android tablets with Google’s updated Ice Cream Sandwich operating system are arriving.    Acer is out with the Iconia Tab a510.   What else does it have to offer?   Acer’s Director of Product Marketing for Connected Devices, Paul Tayar…

“The first thing that we’ve done on this tablet is improve the Tegra CPU from a dual core to a quad core CPU.  We improved the battery life drastically up to twelve hours of video playback.  Installed a lot of productivity and solutions applications.  And we gave it a 32 gigabyte decent size of memory at a 449 price point.”

The screen is 10.1 inches and the Olympic rings logo is on the back.     You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
