Samsung's Galaxy Note gamble paying off

Boot Camp feature for Friday, April 13, 2012

Samsung’s “big” gamble on the Galaxy Note pays off.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    When it comes to the question of how big is too big for a smart phone… Samsung took a gamble with the Galaxy Note.   It’s 5.3 inch screen dwarfs every other phone out there…putting it somewhere between a tablet and a phone.   But more than five million have now been sold around the world as consumers have caught on to the fun, unique features.   Samsung Telecommunications America Marketing Manager Philip Berne…

“It has an S pen so that you can write on the screen.  The S pen uses Wacom technology, so it’s got a digitizer built into the screen.  So we think that graphics artists or business folks or people that just carry around their smartphone plus a notepad and paper are going to find a lot to do with the Galaxy Note.”

Not to mention how games, photos and video look on that 5.3 inch Super AMOLED screen.   The Galaxy Note is carried in the U.S. by AT&T.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
