Rich sound, easy setup in Logitech UE Air Speaker

Boot Camp feature for Friday, April 27, 2012

Rich sound in a wireless speaker for iPhones, iPads and the iPod Touch.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      Air Play technology from Apple enables computers with iTunes and iOS devices to connect to Air Play enabled speakers.   Now Logitech is out with its UE Air Speaker, taking advantage of the company’s acquisition of Ultimate Ears, a company known to professional musicians for years.   There are other things that differentiate the UE Air Speaker.   Logitech’s Senior VP of Music Rory Dooley…

“So one of the key things is the set up.   And there what we’ve done is used an app.  So basically we have a dock, a thirty pin dock that most people using Apple products would be familiar with.  And we use that dock basically to connect to the app store, download the app, and the app then basically connects the Air Speaker to your wireless network.”

The UE Air Speaker looks great too.   It isn’t a low end speaker system.  The price, about four hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
