Shopping online? When are the best days of the week to buy? I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The online shopping rewards site ExtraBux has been taking a look at which days of the week are consumers most likely to find the best prices. Founder Jeff Nobbs says there are some significant differences….
“So it depends on the product category. If you’re shopping for consumer electronics, those are cheapest on Mondays. If you’re shopping for jewelry, that’s cheapest on Wednesday, books on Saturdays and major appliances on Sundays.”
The study took a look at pricing in the various categories over the last two years. The reasoning? Nobbs says prices are lower for consumer electronics online on Mondays because that’s when many shoppers go online to make comparisons after visiting brick and mortar stores on the weekend. Books are cheaper on the weekend because that’s when more people like to sit down with a good read. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
