A virtual visit to the Olympics and more….via social networks. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Wherever there are crowds gathered, you can bet people are posting about it on social networks. And wherever you happen to be, an app called Banjo, lets you follow along with all of those public postings or check out what people are posting nearby you right now. You can even find out when friends are nearby. In fact, that’s how Banjo got started. Founder and CEO Damien Patton…
“So I was leaving an airport, heading out at an airport, back home, and a friend of mine, who I had served in Desert Storm with, was in the same airport. He was on Facebook, I was on Twitter, we were in the same terminal together. I get home, and a few hours later I’m checking my Facebook and my Twitter and guess what I saw. I saw that he had posted in the same airport. You can imagine how frustrated I was. This was someone I hadn’t seen in a long time.”
Now…Banjo can let you know. It’s free for iOS and Android. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
