Lenovo rolls out the X1 Carbon ultrabook

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, August 23, 2012

As the ThinkPad turns 20, Lenovo rolls out an ultra ultrabook.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s been twenty years since the first ThinkPad arrived, made by IBM back then.    But Lenovo has continued the legacy of the brand, building notebooks that consumers and businesses have been able to count on.   Now the X1 Carbon is arriving and says Lenovo Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer David Roman…

“Carbon sort of gives away what we had to do to make it work.  We had to actually build a roll cage and a good part of the case out of carbon.  And it has the functionality that you would expect from a ThinkPad but in a package that is extremely light, extremely thin.”

Pricing starts at about 13 hundred dollars.  Lenovo has also announced a new, more consumer priced ultrabook, the T43U, starting at under 800 dollars.  You can find us with archives, interviews and more, at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
