Pure looks to add versatility to an iOS speaker dock

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Pure looks to add versatility to an iOS speaker dock.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Pure, a company that has been producing Internet radios and speaker docks for iPhones, is branching out.   The new Contour 200i Air is a speaker dock with Apple AirPlay technology built in…letting you transmit music from iPhones and tablets wirelessly.    And the company is also planning to bring a new music streaming subscription service to the U.S. and add Android wireless streaming too.   Director of U.S. Sales, Noam Meppen says that capability will come in a firmware update…

“So if you’re using the Pure Connect app, which is free in the Google Play market, or in the app market on Apple devices, you will be able to use that wireless feature in either eco system.  So you’re really addressing most of the market.”

The Pure Contour 200i Air with a stylish half moon design and solid sound, lists for about 270 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
