Sorry parents. Your iPad really is a worthwhile toy for toddlers. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. As reluctant as a lot of parents may be about putting an expensive iPad in the hands of young children, some apps make it hard to resist. Among them…are the creative interactive games from Toca Boca…including Toca Train and Toca Band. Founder and CEO Bjorn Jeffery calls the apps digital toys….
“The idea of sort of calling it digital toys more specifically is that you don’t win or lose. It’s sort of trying to emulate the feeling of a toy as opposed to a game. But there’s no specific rules. There’s no beginning, middle or an end. It’s rather just something that stimulates kids’ imaginations. And that’s the kind of experience we’re trying to go for.”
And Toca Boca succeeds. The latest is Toca Hair Salon…which sells for a dollar 99. There’s more info at TocaBoca.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
