Dish Network keeps its Hopper hopping

Boot Camp feature for Friday, December 14, 2012

Dish Network keeps its Hopper hopping.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.  With its revolutionary Hopper and Joey whole home DVR system which can inexpensively add Sling capability to let you watch on computers and mobile devices,  Dish Network is giving its customers a lot of flexibility and control.  And now it is tackling another issue, helping you find programs worth watching.   VP Vivek Khemka…

“Apparently about thirty minutes a day is spent on channel surfing.  So we introduced a new feature called What’s Hot.  It tells people what everyone else is watching.  So it’s tomorrow’s water cooler discussion.”  So you can go there or know not to go there, depending on your point of view. “Yeah, you might still choose not to go there but at least I’m giving you information, what’s hot across all the channels so you’re not watching the same eight channels every day.”

Dish has been busy adding a variety of new features and a new satellite Internet service as well.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
