Casio's Bluetooth G-Shock Watch

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, June 13, 2013

The Bluetooth G-Shock Watch from Casio.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Watches that connect to smartphones are a growing category and the entry of Casio is likely to give it a push.   So far, the G-Shock Bluetooth Watch only works with the iPhone 5 and 4S.  It uses low power Bluetooth to alert wearers to incoming mail and social network activity and can help find your phone.  Beyond that, Casio’s Ryan Kloss says….

“Now first and foremost what you’ll always have to remember is it is a G-Shock and G-Shock watches are known as the toughest watch in the world.  It features world time, as well as five alarms, countdown timer, and a stop watch.  And using Bluetooth, this is the first watch that will actually change times as you travel.  It will take the time from your phone using the GPS that’s inside your iPhone.”

The price, about 200 dollars.  When it comes to smart watches, there’s much more to come.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
