An app to teach Mandarin to toddlers & kids

Boot Camp feature for Friday, June 14, 2013

An app to teach Mandarin to toddlers and kids.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The educational app company Fingerprint Digital is out with Kids Learn Mandarin for the iPad and iPhone.  And parents will get a kick out of it and learn some vocabulary too.   CEO and Co-founder Nancy MacIntyre….

“First it introduces the Mandarin word via voice, via the Chinese character and then finally via contextual elements.   And then they get to play fun, mini games that help them reinforce what that word is.”

The app and add ons teach about 200 words.   The basic version of Kids Learn Mandarin is free, but there are charges for the add on packs.   Again, it’s for iOS only.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
