eBay My Gadgets helps you find the worth of your stuff

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, August 29, 2013

How much are all those gadgets you’ve accumulated worth?   eBay makes it easier to find out.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   How many old cell phones, digital cameras and other devices do you have that are gathering dust?   eBay My Gadgets has arrived and it is designed to help you tally up what they are worth and put them up for sale if you choose.   eBay head of retail innovation Healey Cypher….

“The average household owns 24 gadgets.  And so what this does is it simply lets you list the gadgets you have in your household, we mine the entire eBay database.   We have, at any given time, 300 million listings.  We find the average price of those gadgets and say, hey, you have all these gadgets in your home, this is average price of all those things, and lets you very easily, with a single click, re-sell those things.  It’s that simple.”

You don’t have to sell.  You can simply organize your gadgets and see how much they are worth.  There’s more info at eBay.com.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
