Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus: a notebook with a difference

Boot Camp feature for Friday, September 13, 2013

Samsung’s newest notebook…the ATIV Book 9 Plus.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Just when you think most notebook computers are pretty much all the same, you find some surprises.   One of those surprises is Samsung’s ATIV Book 9 Plus.   What is different about it?   Product Manager David Ng….

“What really stands out about it and differentiates it is the display.  So Samsung is a display company and we’re very proud of our best in class display quality.  So what we’re going to be offering on this model is going to be quad HD plus.  Now this is an industry first, 32 hundred by 18 hundred resolution.  So that’s 2 and a half times the sharpness of a standard PC.  If you’re working on an Excel spreadsheet and you really need that level of detail, you can get that same level of detail and 2 and a half times more real estate.”

It has a ten point capacitive touch screen that can tilt back up to 180 degrees for sharing.  The price, about 14 hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
