The future of digital photography. Canon's Chuck Westfall.

Boot Camp feature for Friday, November 8, 2013

Is the future of digital still photography actually video?   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   With higher megapixel sensors and the ability to take high definition and even ultra high definition video on the way…it will become easier than ever for photographers to capture that perfect moment.    That’s the viewpoint of one of the top experts on digital photography, Canon Technical Advisor Chuck Westfall….

“You know we’ve all grown up on the idea of being able to shoot a single snap of the shutter to get the image we wanted for the peak motion of the subject.  Like I’m taking a portrait and I want to get the perfect smile.   The perfect expression.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to shoot like a second worth of video, and maybe your subject is going through a smile, and now you have 24 or 50 pictures to look through and pick the very best one.”

And it’s something that can make us all look pretty good when it comes to photo taking.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
