The latest big push from TV makers is for Ultra HD. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. If you have to have the latest and greatest gadgets out there…this may be the year you spring for an Ultra HD TV. LG isn’t selling it yet…but it has created a 77 inch OLED Ultra HD TV. While you’ll have to wait for that, VP John Taylor says the technology is just getting started…and consumers are interested…
“It’s already becoming more mainstream. That first Ultra HD TV, the 84 inch that LG first introduced, was 20 thousand dollars a year ago. We have Ultra HD TVs on the market in the 55 and 65 inch category now that start in the 35 hundred dollar category now.”
The industry still has work to do to deliver enough Ultra HD content to make the investment worthwhile. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
