Samsung revs up the marketing for the Galaxy S5. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Its newest flagship smartphone is still about a month away…but Samsung has been busy drumming up excitement with advertising during the Oscars this month and announcements about a bucketful of premium apps that S5 owners will get for free. And about the phone itself…marketing manager Philip Berne says…the focus is on improving what consumers need most…
“It’s got a great new adaptive screen technology that looks fantastic outdoors, adjusts its color and brightness and contrast so that it really looks great when you’re outside. It’s got a great new camera module that’s very, very fast autofocus, faster than we’ve had in our cameras before. It’s now water resistant.”
So it can survive drops into water. Also new…a built in heart rate monitor and a fingerprint scanner. The screen size is slightly larger than the Galaxy S4. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
