Sprint's Sharp new phone and aggressive pricing

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Sprint brings a new Sharp phone and aggressive pricing to the competitive landscape.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Sprint has been making headlines of late with its latest offer of ten phone lines for a hundred dollars a month.    The carrier is majority owned by Softbank of Japan…which has been disruptive in pricing there.   Senior VP David Owens…says it’s simple…

“Ten lines, twenty gigs of data, a hundred dollars.  And that’s the one that just blows people away.   And by the way, we pay out your contract.  So it really makes it so there’s no reason that if you’re in a contract but if you’re frustrated with how much you’re spending with our competitors, you can come to Sprint, you can put your phones on easy pay and still have tremendous savings.”

Sprint’s Softbank connection has also led to the announcement of the new Sharp Aquos phone coming to the U.S.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
