Revolv keeps evolving in home automation

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, October 15, 2014

The smart home automation category is growing fast.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Revolv is one of the companies that aims to make creating a connected home easier than ever.   It makes a hub designed to connect to everything from Philips Hue lightbulbs to high tech door locks, window sensors and more.   Much more.   And now Revolv is integrating with what is called IFTTT…If then than that.   What’s that all about?   Co-founder Mike Soucie….

“So just a simple example would be if I were to arrive at Denver International Airport and use Four Square to check in, it would trigger my thermostat back at my home to set the temperature to the comfort level that I’d like after my trip.  So what this integration announcement we have with IFTTT is really to extend all the different types of Web service triggers that could work with a home automation system.”

It gets more interesting all of the time.   More to come.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
