After Shark Tank deal, what's next for Roominate

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, October 30, 2014

They got a deal on Shark Tank.   What’s next for Roominate.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Roominate is a wired building set designed to get girls excited about science, engineering and math….

“So with Roominate it’s all about open ended hands on play.  So they can start by building a doll house, move on to an airplane or even the golden gate bridge.”

Co-founder Alice Brooks.    And for this holiday season…a growing number of retailers will be carrying new creation sets.   And the benefits…

“With Roominate girls are getting comfortable with circuits because they can easily and intuitively plug in a motor to a battery pack and get it spinning.  And then they can build the windmill or the carousel off of that.  And also, as they’re building the structure and designing furniture with our pieces, they’re building up their special skills and their confidence and their hands on problem solving skills.”

Worthwhile and fun.  For more, check out Roominatetoy.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
