Parrot lands new drone. The BeBop.

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, December 2, 2014

In time for the holiday season….something that will go over the tree instead of under it.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Parrot is out with the new  BeBop drone… equipped with a high definition camera.   Sales and Marketing Vice President Peter George says it has built in GPS and is controlled via smartphones or an add on device through WiFi.  The app also controls a super wide angle camera….

“You don’t even need to move the drone.  You just move your thumb on the control device and suddenly you can angle the camera down, left, right, up.  You can see a very, very high quality, stable 1080p high definition video anywhere within that 180 degree field of view.”

The Parrot BeBop comes with rechargeable batteries…each lasting for about 11 minutes of flight and the 8 gigabytes of built in memory can record up to 44 minutes of HD video.   Parrot says it is working with the FAA to make sure consumers are allowed to use the devices legally and safely.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
