New ideas germinate at AeroGarden

Boot Camp feature for Monday, December 8, 2014

New ideas germinate at AeroGarden.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s a good time of year for indoor gardening and the folks at AeroGarden have been coming up with new designs.   Among the latest…is a new space saving model that can fit in just about any kitchen.   Executive VP John Thompson….

“Our newest model is the AeroGarden 3SL which is really designed from the ground up to slide right next to your toaster, next to the sink,  to grow fresh herbs year round.  And it actually grows fresh herbs about five times faster than when you try to grow it in soil in a sunny window.  So it really gives you usable amounts.  And it does that by using hydroponics to grow really, really fast and then putting a nice grow light on top of that.”

AeroGarden has added LED lighting options to more models.  That improves performance and saves energy at the same time.    The top of the line Ultra LED features a control panel with an LCD display providing indoor gardeners with information and reminders.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
