Wearable tech: Wellograph keeps it classy

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, December 10, 2014

When it comes to wearable tech, Wellograph keeps it classy.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Among the health and fitness wearable gadgets that have arrived on the market this year,  Wellograph has taken a different approach from many of its competitors.   It has a rectangular watch face display with a neat cradle for charging.   It detects your heart rate and displays it like an electrocardiogram in a doctor’s office.   Wellograph president Nick Warnock…

“Wellograph is an activity tracker-heart rate monitor, pedometer and stop watch made of sapphire crystal.  Sapphire crystal is stronger than steel and can only be scratched by diamonds.   The price point is 349. “

It is eye catching.  You can find it discounted somewhat online, but it is among the pricier devices in the category.   On the plus side, the company offers regular free updates adding new interfaces and functionality.    And Wellograph promises there’s much more to come.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
