Google's health search revamp

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, February 18, 2015

More trust in medical searches.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     It’s become almost second nature for many of us.   You have this pain in your leg, so you turn to Google to search for what it could be and what can you do about it.   Or maybe it’s one of the kids that’s sick.   Could it be measles?  Well Google is now giving more trusted information when it comes to health queries….and it’s a pretty big deal according the MedCityNews head Chris Seper…

“They’re going to go and they’re going to sift through all kinds of credible sites.  They’re going to have physicians vet it, they’re going to have the Mayo Clinic sign off on it.  And then on the right side of your searches, if you’re using an Internet browser, you’ll see that information right there.  If you’re using Google’s app, you’ll even have a deeper, detailed explanation of what a disease is and what it can do.”

There are hundreds of the most common conditions that have the detailed results  available, and there’s more to come.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
