Hard drives don't last forever. World Backup Day coming.

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Hard drives don’t last forever.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   What is being dubbed World Backup Day is a week away…and the message is pretty clear…if you aren’t backing up what you have stored on a computer, one of these days, you’ll lose it.   Acronis makes a variety of software solutions for consumers and businesses…including True Image…designed to take the pain out of having to recover your data after a hard drive calls it quits.  They’ve made it easy enough for anyone.  GM Nat Maple…

“You should always have three copies of your data.  The original and then two backups.  The two backups should be on different types of media, so for example, an external hard drive and perhaps a CD, more traditionally.  But ideally, one copy should be off site.”

Better safe than sorry.  Acronis.com is offering a buy one get one free deal for World Backup Day…which is March 31st.  Just a day before April Fool’s.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
