Zivix readies next gen Jamstik digital guitar

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, March 25, 2015

It doesn’t look like a guitar.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The Jamstik from a company called Zivix sure doesn’t look like a guitar,  it is more like a shortened neck with strings.  But it sure can play like one when connected to an iPad or iPhone or a Mac computer.   The current version creates its own WiFi network to connect….but the next generation is on the way.   Zivix specialist Chris Heille…

“So the Jamstik Plus, instead of using WiFi uses Bluetooth.  So if you’ve got an iOS 8 equipped iPad or iPhone, it’s a fantastic connection for our users.  It allows them to leave their Internet connection via WiFi open.    And then the other enhancement that’s happening with the Jamstik plus is we’ve added a traditional magnetic pick up.”

The Jamstik Plus is due to arrive soon….and makes guitar playing more portable…while the apps are great for beginners.   There’s more info at Jamstik.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
