How well does your computer know you? Intel's RealSense.

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, May 7, 2015

How well does your computer know you?   Big changes are coming.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    A new generation of computers is arriving on the market equipped with what Intel calls RealSense technology.  It’s a 3D camera and other sensors that VP and General Manager Dr. Achin Bhowmik says… will allow you to use the computer in new ways…while letting the PC get to know you…

“RealSense technology understands the movements of the hands and fingers, your gestures, without having to touch anything physical.  It allows you to do micro manipulations like you do in real life,  manipulate objects.  It understands what you’re trying to do with your hand and fingers.  It recognizes your face.  You’re able to log into your system securely, without having to type a password.”

And RealSense is also capable of detecting your mood via your facial expressions.   This could get very interesting.   There’s more at Intel.com.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
