Asus delivers no contract phone with some premium features

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Asus delivers a no contract phone with some premium features.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   If you don’t want to be locked into payments for a smartphone,  the new Zenfone 2 from Asus is a worthy alternative.   The 299 dollar model features an Intel quad core processor, an HD screen, Android Lollipop, 64 gigs of storage and a decent camera.  There is a less powerful model for a hundred dollars less as well.     Marketing Director Erik Hermanson…

“So part of what we’re trying to do as well as launching the product and educating the people on the specs and features is also letting them know more about unlocked phones and what that means for consumers.  Now you have the freedom to take your phone and put that onto any different carrier or even onto different MVNOs so that you can have the right services and contracts that you want.”  Are there certain carriers that this phone will work with?  “It’ll work across all different carriers.”

You can find the Zenfone 2 at Amazon and other online retailers.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
