Hexbug creates toys to entertain the family cat

Boot Camp feature for Friday, June 5, 2015

A techie toymaker turns its attention to pets.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Hexbug is the maker of a variety of robotic smart toys for kids.   Now the company is using its technology to entertain the family cat.    Director of Corporate Communications Lindsey Gideon…

“We have the…you remember the Nano, a traditional Hexbug.  It vibrates, bounces around.   We’ve added a tail to it, a feather tail.   So now cats can go after it, batting it around.  It’ll flip up and down.  We also have a robotic mouse with a nice little rubbery tail and two different play patterns.   So you turn it on and it’ll take off scurrying around.  It will stop until the cat paws at it and then it will take off again.”

The Hexbug Mouse sells for about ten dollars.  The Nano Robotic Cat Toy is priced at five dollars.  Not only will the cat be entertained…so will you.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
