An HD camera that knows who you are: Netatmo Welcome

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, July 8, 2015

A new HD camera for your home that knows who you are.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Internet connected cameras for the home are getting smarter all of the time.   One of those leading the charge is the new Welcome from Netatmo.   It is a stylish looking cylinder shaped device.   What else is different?   CEO Fred Potter…says Welcome respects privacy…requires no subscription…stores video and photos on a MicroSD card…and through the Apple or Android apps…gives you access from anywhere….

“You will receive notifications on your smartphone or on your watch when the people you love and the people that share your home will come and go.  And you won’t necessarily have to watch all the movies because the notifications will tell you all the important information.  Like my kids have come back from school, my elderly parents come and go as they are used to.”

There’s a lot to like.   You should note the Netatmo Welcome is designed to be used indoors only and sells for about two hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
