Home swapping in the digital age. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Home swapping for travelers isn’t anything new, but a site called LoveHomeSwap.com has brought the idea completely online and made it simple. The basic membership fee is 12 dollars a month….and it gives you access to more than 70 thousand homes of other members around the world. Founder and CEO Debbie Wosskow…
“It offers our members the opportunity, through a point system, to pledge time in their homes in exchange for points that can be used to coordinate a stay in a beautiful home in a city of their choosing for free once they’ve paid for the membership. So in that sense, it’s a little bit like a next generation of time share, but the asset that you’re sharing, that you’re swapping, is your own home.”
If you prefer, you can use the site to rent instead of swap. Either way, LoveHomeSwap aims to make travel more affordable. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
