BackBeat Sense headphones from Plantronics: style, sound and smarts

Boot Camp feature for Friday, August 21, 2015

The latest BackBeat headphones from Plantronics.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Plantronics has designed plenty of comfort and style into the new on the ear BackBeat Sense headphones.   And there are also some smarts.   Take them off and they’ll automatically pause music playback.   Put them back on…and the music resumes.   Beyond that, product marketing manager Lars Ahntholz says…

“It isn’t just a basic headphone.  It’s designed to be super comfortable, you can wear it for an extended amount of time.  It does have Bluetooth, but we went a step farther and made sure that you could plug in an audio cable in the unlikely event that your battery might die.  It does have a microphone on it,  so when listening to music from smartphones, it’s easy to just press a button and accept a call.”

And the BackBeat Sense can connect to two devices at the same time.   Your tablet or computer…and a phone.  The price, about 180 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
