HeadTrainer app helps with mental side of sports

Boot Camp feature for Friday, September 11, 2015

An app to help with the mental side of sports.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    If you’re active in sports at just about any level you know how important a role your mind plays when it comes to success and performance.   A new app called HeadTrainer…for iOS and Android…created with science from the Duke Sports Science Institute…is designed to help.   Chief Operating Officer Jon Pritchett…

“The science behind it is all of these games are weighted to test some or all of the five cognitive functions.  And the idea is you can train, cause we now know the science around the idea of neuroplasticity and you can get better at things like processing information and focus and visual special awareness and memory and processing speed.”

The basic Headtrainer app is free, but added features are available with a subscription priced at about five dollars a month.   You can find more info about how it all works at HeadTrainer.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
