Lego Dimensions builds video game mash-up fun

Boot Camp feature for Monday, November 16, 2015

Another video game that blends what is on screen with actual toys.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   LEGO Dimensions should be one of the hit video games this holiday season…blending the appeal of LEGOS…with a video game and some popular franchises ranging from Batman to Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.   Over fourteen in all.   Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment Producer Doug Heder says players build on a Toy Pad…

“And this is something we spent almost two years developing and researching and building.  And essentially with the use of this LEGO Toy Pad, you can place the LEGO bricks with their accompanying LEGO Toy Tags on top of the Toy Pad and that actually triggers their presence in the digital game on your television screen.”

It’s available for the latest consoles as well as the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the starter kits selling for about a hundred dollars.   As with the bricks…the fun is for a wide variety of ages.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
