Microsoft aims to make Cortana your go to digital assistant

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Microsoft aims to make Cortana your go to digital assistant.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      Microsoft’s Cortana isn’t just for Windows phones and PCs anymore.    You can download Cortana apps for iPhones and Android phones too.   So what’s different about it?  Microsoft’s Laura Jones …

“In creating Cortana we did a lot of research on what a real personal assistant does.  And we learned about how they get to know the person that they’re helping, the information that they’d like to get from their personal assistant and that’s what we’ve created Cortana to be.  Another really unique thing about Cortana is her personality.  So we have an editorial team that really works on crafting Cortana and customizing Cortana for each geography that she’s in.”

So the behavior of Cortana is different from country to country.  These digital assistants are getting more interesting all the time.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
