Building better headphones for kids. Kidz Gear.

Building better headphones for kids.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    In the crowded headphone business, a company called Kidz Gear has distinguished itself by focusing on headphones for kids.   Not only are they made to fit properly, they are also made to sound good, be affordable and in corded models, limit the volume to make them safe.   There’s even a volume limit cable in the line if you already have acceptable headphones.  VP Jack Peterson, who started the company with his wife,  says now parents have the option of going wireless…

“We realized that if we’re going to do Bluetooth, which wireless is the holy grail if you will for children, because they don’t chew on them, they don’t get them tangled, we needed to address the education market as well.  So we designed a proprietary interface where you can attach and detach a boom microphone.”

You can also use them wired.  You can find the new Kidz Gear Bluetooth models for under forty dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
