Macphun's latest software for better photos

Macphun’s latest software for better photos.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      The folks at Macphun are in the business of creating software that help Mac users get the most out of their picture taking.   Now they’ve partnered will well known photographer Trey Ratcliff to come up with Aurora HDR.   The idea says Macphun VP Kevin LaRue…

“It’s kind of the art and science of taking multiple exposure shots and then merging them together into one image.  So imagine for a moment that you’re in a cabin in the woods.  It’s rather dark inside but there’s light streaming in through the windows.  Your camera would be fooled, it wouldn’t know whether to expose properly for the dark areas or make sure the image looked great with the light coming in.”

That’s where Aurora HDR can give you control.   A Windows version is in the works too.     There’s more on Aurora and other tools at Macphun.com.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
