Lycos Life aiming for more connected wearables

Boot Camp feature for Friday, April 15, 2016

Lycos Life adds more life to its wearables.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Lycos Life has a goal of building wearables to connect people with their homes, transportation and themselves.   The company launched a band to track activity, heartrate and sleep last year and with the latest version 2.0 software takes more advantage of the NFC capabilities in the device…

“The things that are very unique on it is we really connect you with your body to your phone essentially right now and then eventually it will connect to the home and into the car.  Things like unlocking your car and unlocking your home.  We, I think are one of the first bands, the only band, that has two NFC chips built into the band in itself.   So you can actually use the band to unlock your phone just by tapping it.   We’re going to incorporate other things such as payments and other connected devices through NFC in the future.”

There’s more at LycosLife.com.   The band sells for under 130 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
