NXROBO's BIG-i personal robot

Boot Camp feature for Friday, May 13, 2016

A robot for your home…that, forgive me R2, looks more like a trash can.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   A company called NXRobo is readying a home robot called the BIG-i.     It kind of looks like a cylindrical trash can…with the camera eye located where you would normally push to dispose of that candy wrapper.   What can it do?  Founder Dr. Tin Lun Lam…

“You can teach the robot, if you see me sitting on the sofa after 7pm, turn on the TV, it can do it automatically.  Another interesting thing is that you can teach the robot, if I raise my hand, then please dance with me and play some music.”

BIG-I can do a lot more…from security to reminders to turn off the stove when you leave the kitchen.   It has a variety of sensors along with a 3D camera.   You can sign up to get more info on availability at NXROBO.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.    I’m Fred Fishkin.
