Nexia delivers more sense in smart homes

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Nexia delivers more sense in smart homes.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    The Nexia brand from Ingersoll Rand has been a pioneer in the smart home business.  And it hasn’t been standing still.  New is the beginning of integration with Amazon’s Alexa for voice control.   GM George Land….

“Users of the Amazon Echo or other Alexa enabled appliances like the Dot or the Tap can access directly their Nexia enabled lighting controls…switches, dimmers, small appliance controls, as well as thermostats.  So those are all of the native features supported by Alexa.  And so you just simply say Alexa, make it warmer in the den, and your thermostat will turn up two degrees for example.”

Nexia uses a small hub…and an ever growing variety of connected smart home gear from a long list of manufacturers.  There’s more at NexiaHome.com.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
