A gadget to help you go hands free while driving: Logitech Zero Touch

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, July 27, 2016

A gadget to help you go hands free while driving.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    When it comes to smartphones and driving…the best solution is probably to not mix the two at all.    But take a look around on the road…and you’ll find most of us are talking and even texting while driving.   Logitech’s Zero Touch devices aim to make that safer.   Your phone is held onto a base or vent mount magnetically….and the accompanying app lets you talk, play music and even text without having to touch the phone at all.  Marketing Director Patric Frank says it works with navigation too…

“So you just high five your phone, it will start the app.”  So you just put your palm out in front of the phone.  “Yes.  And then you say take me to the airport and we’ll navigate to the airport using your favorite navigation app.”  What about texting?  “Texting the same.  I could text Vicky and say, you look beautiful today.   And that’s the text she will receive.”

Zero Touch is available for Android phones.   An iOS app is in the works.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
