Anti-mosquito tech to the rescue

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, August 4, 2016

In the heart of mosquito season…some tech to the rescue.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.     Mosquitos are a constant summer time pest and in some areas of the country, the Zika and West Nile viruses make concerns even more serious.     A company called Sensor Electronic Technology is out with the MOSCLEAN UV LED Mosquito Trap.  How does it work?   CEO Manny Lakios…

“The UV technology is used to attract mosquitos into the vicinity of the trap where then they are pulled down with the help of a fan into a reservoir where they die.  It was tested down in the University of Florida Gainesville, and it was found to be 13 times more effective in capture rate for mosquitos that are attributed to the Zika virus.”

The MOSCLEAN sells on Amazon for about 50 dollars.     One down side,  it isn’t water proof, so needs to kept from the rain.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
