Yonomi app designed to unify the smart home

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 8, 2016

An app to make home automation gear a little more friendly.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    With a pretty wide variety of smart home gear on the market these days, it can be pretty tough for consumers who want to try out different brands.  A company and app called Yonomi aims to make all that easier.   CEO and co-founder Kent Dickson…

“Yonomi is a free app that connects all of your smarthome devices and enables you to set up routines that involve those favorite products.  For example, you could set up a wakeup routine that triggers maybe at six a.m. every morning that automatically plays the weather over your Sonos, turns on the lights in your bedroom, starts up your smart coffee maker.  The possibilities are really endless for these types of customized routines that make your life at home more comfortable.”

Yonomi doesn’t work with everything quite yet….but it does work with Amazon’s Alexa and new devices are being added all the time.   Set up is simple….and that’s what is needed in the smart home arena.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
