Simple Home aims for easy, affordable automation

Boot Camp feature for Friday, September 9, 2016

A different approach to home automation.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    When it comes to creating a smart home….it usually means using a hub as a gateway between your phone…and devices that control lighting,  door and window sensors, motion detectors and more.   A company called Simple Home is out with a line of products that connect directly to WiFi…eliminating the need for a hub.   CEO Elie Chemtov says the idea is to make installation easy and more affordable…

“We carry a full line of plugs that will let you transfer any plug into a smart plug.  Then we also have smart door and window sensors.  We also do light bulbs, video cameras.”

And there’s more to come.  Pricing starts at 39 dollars.   No subscriptions needed….but the company’s approach means the system is not compatible with products from other manufacturers.   There’s more info at gosimplehome.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
