KinderLab's KIBO robotic kit for kids

Techstination feature for Thursday, October 12, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.      A robotic kit for four year olds?   That’s what a company called KinderLab has created with KIBO.   It is crafted of wood…on the outside and uses blocks that are placed on Kibo that essentially program the little robot to carry out instructions.  CEO Mitch Rosenberg…says the idea is to make STEM learning universal…

“The blocks are essentially a story that you want your robot to tell.   But the next thing is you have to build a robot.  So here’s a robot and as you’ll see there’s not much to him.  He’s really basically a blank canvas because really what we’re teaching is creativity.”

The target age is from about 4 to 7 years old.  KIBO is fun and smart and not cheap…at 229 dollars.  But with new modules, it can continue to grow.  There’s more at KinderLabRobotics.com.
