Amazon opens another door

Techstination feature for Monday, October 30, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    When it comes to home security…Amazon is opening some new doors.    The giant online retailer and consumer electronics maker has announced a new Cloud Camera and a service called Amazon Key.   It will work with connected locks from Yale and Kwikset.    There’s a 250 dollar bundle…that includes the camera, a connected lock and installation.   And the idea is that in select markets initially…..Amazon will be able to deliver packages to the inside of your home…even when you aren’t there.   And the camera will allow you to monitor the whole thing.    The system can be used for lots of other things as well…and of course it will be integrated with Alexa as well.     The camera, designed for indoor use,  will compete with many others on the market, including those from Nest.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
