"SiPix is about mobile digital imaging. We want to take the PC out of the equation. At the same time, we want to let you use it when you need to." Alex Curyea of SiPix. The company's first product is the Pocket Printer A6. A battery operated thermal printer that lets you print from a Palm operating system PDA. The paper size is only about half the usual 8 and a half by 11 size. You could print out a document from your Palm... for a legal signature on the spot. Next out of the gate ... the 180 dollar Pocket Color 200... which SiPix is selling bundled with a low resolution digital camera... .
"This is a battery powered portable printer. They work together so you can hit one button and print a photograph out on the job." The photos are about the size of a business card... and the whole package... printer and camera... .sells for under three hundred dollars. The question is... what for? From my vantage point... .your money would be better spent on a higher resolution camera... which could give you better print outs from almost any ink jet printer on the market.
