Sony Rolls Out New Product Line

The top name in consumer electronics rolls out its new product line. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Even in the uncertain economy... .the consumer electronics market has held up pretty well. In fact, the best known brand... Sony... had record sales last November and December. That pace has cooled down... .but Sony is hoping it's new line of products for this year will get us to open our wallets again. Sony Consumer Sales Company President Ron Boire...

"Well a few of the highlights are first of all in imaging in our projection TV and traditional glass television lines, we're introducing an all digital projection TV line. We've also introduced in both our conventional glass and projection line the ability for these TVs to take a Memory Stick media card and play back JPEG images."

Direct from a Sony digital camera. Sony expects half of all camcorders being sold this year to be digital...

"And we're introducing what we call a Micro MV Camcorder, which is literally a camcorder about twice the size of a pack of cigarettes. Drops right into your pocket. Uses a new digital tape format that is about the size of a matchbox, the old fashioned matchbox. It takes still images as well as digital images and will connect using Bluetooth technology to your PC."
